Core Structure

1. Charis Affordable Homeownership Program: We are committed to creating a stabilized set of affordable housing in our target community, and thus, established an Affordable Homeownership Program to build houses for those who otherwise do not qualify for a market-rate home nor for other affordable programs. Our program provides 0% interest loans for 1st-time homeowners. We work with families who earn 50-80% of the Area Median Income. We offer homeowner counseling and training classes to help our families transition into the new world of homeownership.
2. Charis Community Development: We desire to build mixed-income communities undergirded by the peace of God. We partner with the local residents to dream and create a master plan. We seek to mobilize the community’s assets and to recruit partnerships that add to and strengthen the fabric of the neighborhood. We seek to work ourselves out of a job.
3. Charis Property Management: We provide and maintain rental apartments and housing to help meet the most basic needs of the recovery and transitional community in urban Atlanta. We love to walk with residents, as they move from our transitional apartments to our rental housing to homeownership.
